What do brand identity design services cost?
Guidelines and templates starts at $3,750, and that is the right answer for most brands at this size. An identity refresh starts at $7,500 and a full identity project starts at $13,750. All three are project work with a 50 percent deposit rather than a retainer.
Do we need a rebrand?
Usually not. If your logo works and your customers recognise you, what you are missing is a set of rules and templates rather than a new identity. We will tell you which one you need before quoting either.
Do you design packaging?
Yes, including dielines and print-ready files. We work with your printer directly on specifications and proofs, since a design that cannot be produced at your run size is not a finished design.
How long does an identity project take?
Scoping and direction take two to three weeks. The system and guidelines take another three to four. Rollout depends on how many surfaces exist, and it is usually the longest part because it touches the site, email, ads, and packaging.
Can you work with the logo we already have?
Yes, and it is often the better call. Building a system around an existing logo keeps the recognition you have already paid for and costs a fraction of starting over.
Who owns the files?
You do. Source files, fonts we licensed on your behalf, and the guidelines document. All of it is handed over and none of it stays with us.
Do you do design work outside a retainer?
Identity and packaging projects run as projects. Ongoing design sits inside a retainer, because per request billing makes people ration small jobs and the small jobs are what keep a brand consistent.
