Ecommerce SEO services built for Shopify catalogs

Most ecommerce SEO advice was written for sites that are not Shopify. Your collection pages, your variant URLs, and your app stack create problems a general checklist does not cover. We work on those specifically, for brands doing $1M to $5M.

Start with a free audit. We go through your store from the outside and send back the three things costing you the most search traffic, with what each one is worth.

The problem

Where Shopify stores lose search traffic

Your collection pages are the ones that rank. Someone searching for a product category lands on a collection rather than on a single product, and Shopify ships collection pages with a title, a product grid, and nothing else.

That is the largest gap in most accounts we open. Three hundred products, forty collections, and no copy on any of them. The pages that should carry your category terms have nothing on them for a search engine to read. Shopify does not prompt you to write it and nobody notices until traffic stalls.

Underneath that, Shopify creates URL problems on its own.

01 Filtering and sorting generate variations of the same collection, and some of them get indexed.
02 Every product sits at two addresses, one under /products/ and one under /collections/, and internal links usually point at the wrong one.
03 Collection pagination splits a category across pages that compete with each other.
04 Apps inject scripts that slow the page down, and load speed is a ranking input on mobile.

None of that is exotic. It is the default state of a store that grew quickly and never had anyone looking at the technical side.

What the work is

Technical

We start here because everything else compounds on top of it. Canonical tags pointing at the right version of each product, filtered URLs kept out of the index, structured data that describes your products correctly, and whatever the app stack is doing to your load time.

This is also where the early wins are. A store with indexing problems is competing against itself, and fixing that costs nothing in content or links.

On-page

Collection pages get copy that targets the category term. In most accounts that is where the traffic is, and it is the change that moves soonest.

Product descriptions get rewritten for the buyer instead of pasted from a manufacturer sheet. We also redo titles and meta descriptions against what people search rather than what the product is called internally.

Content

Guides and articles that answer what buyers search before they are ready to buy. This part is slow and it compounds. A guide written in month three is still bringing in traffic in year two.

Volume depends on your catalog and your competition. We give you that number after the audit rather than sell you a package of four posts a month.

Links

We do both kinds. Digital PR, meaning we build something worth covering and pitch it to publications and newsletters in your category. And citation and directory work, which is unglamorous and still works when domain authority is low.

You get the list of what was earned each month with the URLs, so the work is checkable.

Timeline

What the first year looks like

Months 1 to 2

Technical audit and fixes, a real baseline in Search Console, and work on the collection pages that already get impressions.

Months 3 to 6

Collection and product page work across the catalog, and content starts. Rankings begin moving on lower-competition terms.

Months 6 to 12

Content compounds, links accumulate, and the category terms that matter start to move.

The honest version

Nine to twelve months for competitive category terms on a domain without existing authority, and sooner for long-tail and product terms. We give you the specific version after the audit, because it depends on what the brands above you have already built.

AI answers

Where AI answers fit

This is part of the search work rather than a separate service.

The inputs overlap. Structured data, clean product information, reviews, and pages that answer real questions are what gets you into an AI answer and what gets you ranked. Doing them twice would be doing them once.

So there is no separate retainer for it here. The longer version of how AI answers get assembled has its own page.

Pricing

What it costs

Monthly
$2,500
a month
Setup
$2,875
one time

The setup covers the technical audit, the fixes, and the first pass at your collection pages. Content volume and link work sit inside the monthly rather than as add-ons, and the mix shifts as the account matures. Full pricing is published on the pricing page.

Ownership

What you keep

Everything. The content is on your domain, the technical fixes are in your theme, and the links point at your store.

SEO is the service where this matters most, because the asset is the thing we built rather than the campaign we ran. A paid account stops working the day you stop paying it. Rankings do not.

We work inside your Shopify, your Search Console, and your analytics. You add us as users and you remove us the same way.

How long before I see results?

Technical fixes show up in weeks, because an indexing problem resolves as soon as it is fixed. Collection page work usually moves within two to three months. Competitive category terms on a domain without existing authority take nine to twelve months. We give you the specific timeline after the audit rather than a number now.

Do you do link building?

Yes, both kinds. Digital PR means building something worth covering and pitching it to publications and newsletters in your category. Citation and directory work is the less interesting half and it still works when domain authority is low. Every link earned is reported with its URL.

How much content does this need?

It depends on your catalog size and what the brands ranking above you have published. Some stores need collection page copy and nothing else for the first six months. Others need a real publishing cadence. We tell you which after the audit.

Is SEO worth it if most of my revenue comes from paid?

That is usually the argument for it rather than against it. A brand at $2M running mostly on Meta has one channel setting its customer acquisition cost, and no leverage when that cost climbs. Search revenue does not move with an auction. It is slower to build and it does not stop when you pause spend.

Do you do the work, or hand us a list?

We do the work. Theme edits, collection copy, structured data, and content all get shipped by us inside your accounts. If your developer would rather implement the technical items, tell us and we will write the specs and check them after, which is often faster anyway.

Is AEO a separate service?

No. Getting named in AI answers runs on the same inputs as ranking, so it sits inside the search work at no additional cost. Any part of it that is genuinely separate would be schema markup, and that is already in the technical scope.

What do ecommerce SEO services cost?

Ecommerce SEO starts at $2,500 a month after a $2,875 setup. Engagements run six months minimum, which is the shortest term where the work has time to produce anything worth judging.

Does this work for a store with a small catalog?

Yes, and it changes shape. A twenty-product store has fewer collection pages to build and leans harder on content and links. A three-hundred-product store has more surface to fix before content is worth starting. The audit tells you which one you are.
